Special Olympics

Our STRIDE Program loves participating in Kentucky's Special Olympics. When we began in Special Olympics 25 years ago, we had 8 Special Olympics athletes.  Now we have 71.  From barely having enough to field one team, we now have 14 teams participating in team competitions as well as individual sports like bowling & bocce ball.  Here is some highlights of each sport.  Scroll down for more information on Special Olympics of Kentucky as well as a link to the athlete medical form required to compete.

Basketball

Basketball season begins in December and goes through State Games in March.  We currently have two B teams, a 1A team, & a 2A team.  We compete in a Regional Tournament in February and also play several other area teams.
